The Lynn Lavender Collection

For as long as there has been fashion, women have emulated other women whom they deemed to possess something special; a sense of personal style and flair, an aura of uniqueness and individuality. Lynn Lavender is one such woman, and her sophistication and elegance have inspired "The Lynn Lavender Collection" of fashion jewlery.

Lynn and her husband Bob Lavender originally became involved in the fashion industry with Lavender Fashions, a party plan jewelry business. Presenting accessory workshops to groups of women in their homes or workplaces, the Lavenders offered a line of accessories Bob calls "a basic bread and butter line; it was moderately priced and, we thought, had widespread appeal. The bread and butter line, however, wasn't exactly Lynn's taste. She chose to compile her own collection of accessories with Bob's help, who would choose a special piece for her each time he went on a buying trip.

"Lynn has a sophisticated, dramatic look," says Bob, "and she likes to wear things that are different. Every time I went to a market, I would look for something that uniquely reflected her personality and her sense of fashion." As most of the pieces he purchased for Lynn were unusual and more upper-priced than his existing line, Bob did not think the two types of merchandise would work together; nonetheless, Lynn couldn't resist wearing her own special pieces to the Lavender Fashions shows.

"I didn't think that the average woman would buy the type of accesories Lynn wore," explains Bob, "but the customers proved me wrong. The women at our shows starting wanting what Lynn was wearing, and tried to buy every one of the accessories she had on."

Thus, The Lynn Lavender Collection, based on the unique style and taste of his wife, was launched by Bob Lavender in 1986. Introduced with 20 pieces, the collection is now LAVENDER's entire line as it's popularity proved to surpass that of the initial bread and butter line. Over the years, The Lynn Lavender Collection has been featured in upper-end specialty boutiques, gift shops at major airports, and department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, and the previously reknowned Rheinauers and Jacobsons. LAVENDER can also be found in two locations in Daytona Beach, Florida with a concentration on premium close out pieces. Bob attributes the success of the line to a lot of hard work and to the marketing program centered around Lynn's sense of style; her face has been featured on everything from advertisements to shopping bags.

"My goal is to have a name and be recognized for that name," he says. "you have to have a concept and an image; Lynn's style, her face, her looks have made all the difference in the world."
